Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Macular Degeneration
In the present off-label study, 14 patients with visual loss secondary to Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) underwent HBO2 treatment and achieved improvements in their visual acuity and/or visual eld in cases considered untreatable by presently accepted methods. There were no complications, and the visual bene ts achieved appear to be maintained at follow-up visits.
