Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Stage IV Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is more aggressive and metastatic than other breast cancer types. Cytotoxic chemotherapy is presently the predominant systemic therapy for TNBC patients. This case report highlights the influence of metabolically supported chemotherapy (MSCT), ketogenic diet (KD), hyperthermia (HT), and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in an overweight 29-year-old woman with stage IV (T4N3M1) triple-negative invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for Treating Alzheimer’s Dementia
A 9-week treatment of low-pressure hyperbaric oxygen therapy (40 sessions) in a patient with Alzheimer's Dementia caused a significant increase in global metabolism on 18FDG PET imaging with concomitant symptomatic improvement. Mild symptomatic regressionwas treated with intermittent HBOT, normobaric oxygen, and medications to stabilize symptoms, suggesting the possibility of long-term HBOT treatment of AD with pharmacotherapy.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Impaired Brain Function
The benefits of treating toxic exposure patients with Hyperbaric Therapy appear to be very positive. Initial results indicate that Hyperbaric Therapy has a demonstrable and positive effect on some symptoms such as short term memory loss and balance.
Treating Age-Related Macular Degeneration with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Patients with visual loss secondary to Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) underwent hyperbaric oxygen therapy and achieved improvements in their visual acuity and/or visual eld in cases considered untreatable by presently accepted methods.
A New Treatment Modality for Fibromyalgia Syndrome: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Clinical studies have shown hyperbaric oxygen therapy to be effective in treating symptoms of fibromyalgia.
